This week's obsession: Grizzly Bear. Yes, I know they are not new, but I kind of rediscovered them because they have a couple tracks on Dark was the Night. "Service Bell" featuring Feist is just fantastic. The top video features the song "Colorado" and the second is "Reprise." In Colorado, Edward Droste sings....When I clung to you there was nothing to hold on tight with, you left me adrift. I don't know why, but those lyrics just hit a soft spot with me. Those moments where you are so attached to something you find comfort, whether it is a person, an opinion, or something you love, sometimes you feel like there is nothing keeping you together. So simple, yet so meaningful. Both of these songs are just beautiful. The instrumentation just brings about feelings of calmness, contemplation, and relaxation.

After a shitastic week at school, my weekend at home gave me time take a break, get away from College Station, and just think about things. With all of the things I have to look forward to in the next six months, I can't help but smile. My birthday, South by Southwest, hopefully Town Hall's first big concert, my Ring Day, my Ring Dunk, hopefully finding a job I enjoy, graduation, and Bonnarroo Music Festival. Wow. Can't complain about that.
